James Challis

James is originally from Brisbane Australia. It was here where he studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting at the Queensland University of Technology. His father Martin Challis founded Studio For Actors which James eventually took over in 2023. James' most notable TV and Film performances include Showtimes "Yellowjackets" ABC's "When We Rise", CBS' "Salvation", Hallmark's "Wedding Bells" Discovery Channels “Outrageous Births” James also worked on CW’s season 3 of Riverdale as the Gargoyle King.  He played Mike in the indie horror masterpiece "Peelers" alongside Manny Jacinto. James is currently working as a full time actor / director and instructor at Studio For Actors.

Cassidy Bot-Devire

Cassidy Bot-Devire is a Vancouver based actor, director and writer. She began her journey at the age of eight as she was catapulted into the film and TV industry. Appearing in films such as “Night at the Museam” “Deck The Halls” and “Hipsterverse”. Throughout her experience, she soon also began to develop a deep passion for theatre and eventually would Appear in productions such as “The Longview” “Emilia” and “The Glass Menagerie”. Not long after, she would go on to and direct projects including “God of Carnage” and “A Dolls House”. Cassidy finds an incredible amount of joy in live performance. You can currently find her taking the stage as “Veronica” in Stephen Adly Guirgis’ “Morherf*cker With the Hat” and directing John Patrick Shanley’s “The Wild Goose” At The Nest Theatre on Granville Island.

Dan Xie

Dan Xie is a high school senior at Saint George's School who enjoys sports and music. As an spring film producer, he wanted to do something that combines his passions of film and business; hence, he envisioned Youthflics Showcase.

King Louis Palomo

King Louie Palomo is a Filipino-born queer filmmaker based in Vancouver, Canada. His first short film, NENE, won Best Director in a Short Film at the 2021 Reelworld Film Festival and a Special Mention in Directing at the 2021 Dreamanila Film Festival. The film starred the late Filipino veteran actress Flora Gasser and was featured at Rappler Philippines. His proof-of-concept film, STAY, was screened at over twenty film festivals. It won as a runner-up for the Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2023 Out on Film: Atlanta's LGBTQ Film Festival and a Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2022 Queer North Film Festival. His work as a producer, AUGANIC, by Krit Komkrichwarakool, is making rounds at film festivals. It won Best Live Action Short at the 2024 DeadCenter Film Festival. The film was also screened at the 2024 Palm Springs Shortfest and Hollyshorts Film Festival. It was also submitted for consideration at the 97th Academy Awards. King Louie is a current resident of the Canadian Film Centre’s Norman Jewison Film Program Director’s Lab.

Fawaz Al Batati

Fawaz Al Batati is an Arab-Canadian filmmaker and visual artist, blending film, digital art, and analog street photography to explore identity, place, and memory. A graduate of the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles with Warner Bros Discovery Production Management training, he is fluent in English, Arabic, and proficient in French. Fawaz is deeply involved in community-driven projects across Vancouver, Montreal, and Jeddah, and has exhibited his work in the UAE. He serves on the Pre-Screening Committee at the Vancouver Short Film Festival and as a coordinator at The Cinematheque Vancouver, focusing on youth engagement and cultural dialogue.
